Coming Soon: 54@Science Africa Newsletter
Since September last year, I have been on a learning journey–mostly focused on science. This has involved reading scientific research either centered on Africa or relevant to the continent.
From evolutionary biology and climate science to tropical diseases, AI, and medicine, I have explored research across numerous scientific fields.
I have read papers on Africa’s Sahara Desert fueling dust storms in Europe, small particles from bush burning in Africa influencing rainfall patterns, and 32 African countries experiencing their hottest years on record in 2024. I’ve also delved into the race to use AI to manufacture a snakebite venom vaccine and how extreme weather affects HIV patients.
Additionally, I have read research on using AI to decode elephant communication in sub-Saharan Africa, fighting malaria with genetically engineered mosquitoes, and new evidence suggesting that Homo sapiens and Neanderthals interbred more recently than previously thought.
Nothing excites me more than learning. To continue this journey, I will be launching a science newsletter titled “54@Science Africa.” I hope this learning journey excites you too!
