The research gap you highlite here is staggering. Only 24 out of 53 countries having published any studies really shows how unprepared the region is despite facing some of the most severe impacts. The fundin shortage is particularly concerning, most research being self funded means we're missing critical data for policymaking. The point about vulnerble populations being excluded from studies is spot on, you cant design effective policies without understanding whos actually being impacted most.
