Really strong piece on how overstocking gets misattributed to climate impacts. The regional imbalance you describe (southern Africa underutilized while northern/eastern regions are overstretched) is something I've seen play out in supply chain contexts where teh constraint is distribution infrastructure not absolute capacity. Seems like the core challenge here isnt just herd management but creating the political economy that lets livestock move to underused areas without sparking resource conflicts. The cremation finding at Hora1 in the research highlights was fascinating btw.

How terrifying that people are still completely ecologically illiterate in this day and age. And still blaming natural resources for the consequences of our management. Articles like this will do so much damage to securing our futures.
